The Brady Bunch: Going North

Text: “I was surprised, as always, by how easy the act of leaving was, and how good it felt.
The world was suddenly rich with possibility.”

--Jack Kerouac, On the Road

A sense of adventure is hard acquired. It requires the bravery to step into the unknown,
and faith in both yourself and the journey.
These photographs were all made by young artists in their 20s, finding their way at a
transitional point in life. The aim of the collection is to bring the viewer to the edge of the
precipice, to re-ignite that feeling of venturing out on your own for the first time.
In any journey, north is the point of reference. It standardizes maps and compasses,
orients the night sky. One could walk north forever, circumnavigating the globe and
returning to their starting point, still searching for their destination. --Lexi Brown
